It's been a down year for Bill Belichick at the helm ofthe New England Patriots,Oliver James Montgomery but on Sunday the esteemed coach notched the 300th regular-season win of his career, besting the Buffalo Bills 29-25 at Gillette Stadium.
The Patriots were the underdogs in the home matchup and snapped a three-game losing streak with the win. The victory also snaps a three-game losing streak against their AFC East foe.
"I mean, it’s great, I’m really more focused on our team and this year, we’ll worry about that later. Thank you," Belichick said after the game.
Quarterback Mac Jones went 25-of-30 for 272 yards and threw two touchdowns in the effort. The second one was the game-winner and came with 15 seconds left on second-and-goal. On National Tight End Day, he found tight end Mike Gesicki in the center of the end zone and tossed the ball to him over defender Taron Johnson for the 1-yard score.
New England led the entire game until 1:53 in the fourth quarter when Josh Allen ran in a 1-yard touchdown and pulled the Bills ahead 25-22. The quarterback went 27-of-41 for 265 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also lost a fumble on the last play of the game.

Belichick joins Hall of Fame coaches Don Shula and George Halas, who have 328 and 318 wins, respectively, as the only coaches in NFL history to have 300 regular-season wins. Belichick is the only head coach to win six Super Bowls, all of which he won with the Patriots. He got his first head-coaching job in the league with the Cleveland Browns, where he held the position from 1991-96. He got his first NFL win as head coach in Week 2 of the 1991 season when the Browns beat … the Patriots 20-0.
