Sam Asghari feels lucky when it comes to his marriage to Britney Spears.
Two months after finalizing his divorce from the "Womanizer" singer, the upcoming Traitors star is reflecting on what he learned from their marriage, and why he's so thankful for their time together.
"You learn so much from being in relationships in general," Sam exclusively told E! News' Francesca Amiker. "I appreciate all the amazing experiences that I got."
He also feels that being in such a serious relationship "grows you as a person," explaining that his time with Britney is "something that's always going to be a part of me."
"I'm always going to celebrate the past," he continued, "and learn about the past and move on to the future."
And Sam had nothing but kind words for his ex-wife.
"I wish her the best," he said. "She's an amazing person and a huge part of my life and I always appreciate the moments we had together."
As for where his love life stands now? The 30-year-old joked that "at the moment, I'm dating my dog."
"She's high maintenance," he quipped. "So my hands are full with my current partner, which is Porsche my dog."
But jokes aside, the fitness expert clarified that he's focusing on his healing process before jumping into another relationship.
"It's going to take some time for me," he explained, "as it does with everyone that goes through a breakup."
Instead, he's choosing to put his focus on his career, especially his upcoming comedy Jackpot—in which Californians must attempt to kill a lottery winner and legally claim their winnings—with Sam noting it was "an amazing experience."
As for his favorite part of working on the Paul Feig film? According to Sam, it was working with true "professionals" like costars John Cena, Awkwafina and Simu Liu.
He was especially amazed by his costars' comedic timing, adding that "just being around greats" was a blessing, as it allowed him to learn "so much."
Jackpot hits theaters on August 15.
